QHow do I pay for goods?
Alongside quotes is a “Buy Now” button, which when clicked, allows you to order and place your order. You can also ask the depot to text or email you a Secure PayLink, allowing you to enter your payment info privately.
You can then pay securely by card. (Some depots still accept Paypal)
QWhat do the Star Ratings mean?
The ratings appear alongside the quoting suppliers names :
- 5* = Excellent -Few or Zero problems reported
- 4* = Very Good – Some problems reported but all resolved promptly.
- 3* = Average – A number of reported problems but all resolved.
QI keep getting a whirring symbol when selecting a part
This can be caused when using older browsers. Either update your browser or download MS Edge or Google Chrome and the part options should then appear immediately.
QWhat guarantees are offered?
All depots offer a minimum of 30 days guarantee on parts supplied. Some come with 60 or even 90 days or even more.
QAm I obliged to purchase if I make a request?
You’re under no obligation whatsoever. Once you make a request, our depots may phone and we’ll send you quotes for you to consider. You need not purchase any parts at all but we hope we’ll be able to provide you with the best possible prices available, so if you need quality used vehicle spares, 1st Choice Spares is your No 1 choice.
QI’ve forgotten my password
Simply click on “Login” in the top right corner and click the link that says “you can request a new one here” and we’ll email you a link to re-set your password.
QWhat happens if a part supplied is faulty?
Simply log into your account and you’ll be able to click the “Report a problem” link and fill in a brief outline of the problem and we’ll look into it for you.
QShould I Order and Pay online?
You do not have to pay online. When speaking with the supplier to check details, if you decide to go ahead and purchase, you can ask the depot to text or email you a 100% Secure PayLink.
PayLinks enable you to keep you payment infomation totally private enter your card details securely.
QDo I receive quotes by Text or Email?
Some quotes appear almost instantly, but we will also email and/or send you a free text to you when any additional quotes become available. You can then compare all quotes online, decide which is best for you, then either order and pay online via card or PayPal or call the depot direct and pay by credit card over the phone.
QCan I telephone my request?
Unfortunately not but you can enter the details of parts you need yourself. The best way is to enter your reg number and then the parts you need. Or if you do not know the reg number, you can select the Make & Model links, then continue with the parts etc.
QCan I contact 1st choice?
Yes, visit the contact page, and send us a message.
QWhat success rate does 1st Choice have in finding spares?
Again it’s impossible to accurately state just how many times we successfully find spares for customers but indications are that it’s as high 80% to 90% of the time.
QWill my personal details be used by other companies?
No. Your personal details are used solely to allow our depots to contact you with no obligation quotes for parts you may search for using 1st Choice Spares or to inform you of any new developments or services available from 1st Choice.
QWhat savings can I expect to make if I use Recycled spares instead of new ones?
It’s impossible to give an accurate percentage figure but you should expect to save anything between 50% to 80% off the cost of new spares.
QHow many requests can I make?
As many as you like. Obviously if you are a private motorist, you will only need to make the occasional request for spares but if you are a trade repairer, you can use 1st Choice to locate them as often as you wish – all completely free!
QWhat is a Full Engine?
Full Engines comprise of: Cylinder Head, Engine Block & Sump. It would not normally include ancillary items such as Starters, Injection Pumps or Alternators etc. unless requested and agreed additionally.
QWhat if you do not find my spares first time?
Obviously with the nature of used spares, it would be impossible for every member to have every spare for every model of vehicle ever made, however with a network of 150+ Top Recyclers, we usually find 3 or 4 have one and offer you a quote. It is of course possible from time to time that no one will have a particular part but as all members are receiving 100’s of additional vehicles daily, you can simply re-enter your request a day or two later and often, your parts will have become available.
QCan I leave Feedback?
To maintain the high level of service we expect from our supplier depots, it would be very helpful if you could spare a few moments to tell us about the service you received and leave some feedback about the supplier and our web site.
To leave Feedback, simply log into your account, select the Search you purchased and click “Show supplier reviews” beneath the suppliers name. You can then rate the supplier and leave your comments about the service they provided.
QHow many dismantlers are linked to 1st Choice?
1st Choice has built up a network of around 150 of the UK’s TOP Car, Van & 4×4 Recyclers, many now linked with a live stock feed, allowing us to give you instant availability and prices on thousands of used spares.
QHow quickly are parts delivered?
Usually the next working day, depending on the time you made your request and the day of the week. For example, if a request is made at 4.30pm, it is unlikely that the parts can be despatched before the following day or if the request was made on a Friday afternoon, most couriers will be unable to deliver before the following Monday or Tuesday.
QHow quickly can I expect to start to receive quotes?
Many of our depots have a live stock feed so often quotes appear instantly, 24 hours a day. Other depots will provide additional quotes within a few minutes from the time you first enter your request, some of whom also work until late in the evening.
QHow do I order & pay for my parts?
- Check details and Compare prices on our web site.
- Click the BUY NOW button alongside the quote and pay securely online.
- Call the depot direct and ask them to text or email you a secure PayLink.
We do highly recommend NEVER to send payment by bank transfer as this offers no protection. Card or PayPal is far more secure.
QShould I accept Telephone Quotes?
Some depots may call you with prices but ALWAYS ask them to confirm their quote via 1st Choice, to verify they are an approved supplier within our network. You can then compare their quote with any other quotes and if you decide to buy, either pay by card online or ask the depot to send you a secure PayLink.
